VOICE is incredibly diverse - the project is dedicated to collecting stories of individuals from all over the world. This means bridging geographical distances, cultural differences, and languages. We connect with VOICE writers from a large number of countries, and currently work in four different languages. This would not be possible without an amazing team of volunteers  willing to dedicate their time, skills and experience to the project.

 


Annina Lux - Project Coordinator

Annina is the project coordinator of VOICE, responsible for the organisation of the project and internal cooperation of the VOICE team. She was born in 1992 in Germany. She has lived and worked in various countries, including the UK, where she finished school and obtained a BA in History from Durham University, and Bolivia, where she worked in a rural hospital. Her experience in Bolivia has led her to establish VOICE. Annina currently lives in Paris, where she is doing a Master in International Security at SciencesPo. She speaks German and English as well as Spanish and some French.


Anouck Teiller - Translator (French) and Regional Contact for West Africa and Asia

Anouck works as a French translator for VOICE, and is also the regional contact for Asia. She was born in 1995 in France. She is enrolled at SciencesPo Paris, where she studies International Security. Anouck spent one year in Thailand studying Asian affairs and enjoyed this opportunity to travel all around South-East Asia. She speaks French, English and German and has some notions of Thai and Russian.


Sheila Chepkoech- Regional Contact Africa

Sheila is a Kenyan national with a great passion to help people, especically those living in Sub-Saharan Africa, where she is originally from. It is this passion that drove her to pursue development studies as a career. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from United States International University- Africa (USIU-Africa) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Development at the Paris School of International Affairs, SciencesPo. Sheila is also sharing her personal experiences as a VOICE writer.


Florian- Translator (German) and Regional Contact South and Central America

Florian works as a German translator for VOICE, and is also the regional contact for South and Central America. He is currently enrolled in a Master of International Security at SciencesPo Paris. He speaks German, French and English, and has a good proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese.


Caterina Belardi - Regional Contact for the Middle East

Part-Italian and part-Lebanese, I grew up rolling spaghetti with one hand and biting off kebab skewers with the other! Growing up I was immersed in the fullness of the Mediterranean heritage. I grew up in Rome, and then moved on to living in Beirut and Boston for my undergraduate studies in Business and Journalism. After working in New York for a year, I resumed my studies and moved back to Beirut to pursue a masters in History and International Relations. I spent my second year in Paris at SciencesPo writing my thesis on Historical Journalism in Lebanon.


Bárbara del Bosque Salmerón - Translator (Spanish)

Bárbara works as a Spanish translator for VOICE. She was born in Veracruz, México and has a Bachelor in Nutrition and Food Science. She has been involved in talks and workshops about healthy eating and nutrition in different towns and communities in México, Brazil and Paraguay; where she has been a volunteer in educational projects. She is a promoter of social volunteer exchanges in an NGO because she believes  having that kind of experiences enhances our world and human relations and perceptions. She currently works in a governmental hospital and a private practice and is also studying to become an Emergency Medical Technician. She speaks Spanish, English and some Portuguese.


Catherine Banner - Writing advisor

Catherine’s role is as writing advisor to VOICE. She is a writer born in the UK in 1989 and living in Turin, Italy. After studying English at university, she worked as a teacher of English and literacy. She has published a trilogy of young adult novels as well as one adult novel, The House at the Edge of Night She currently writes full-time for Penguin Random House. She speaks English, Italian and French and is passionate about finding new ways to use creative writing to share individual stories. Philina Tempelmeier – Connect Germany

Philina joined VOICE to work on the Connect Germany Programme. She was born in 1993 and grew up in Germany. She has lived in the UK for 5 years, where she finished school and graduated from Durham University with a BA in Economics and International Relations. Philina currently studies law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She speaks German and English as well as some French.


Alena - Media and Communication Manager

Alena is responsible for the communication and the media management of VOICE. She has a Bachelor in European Studies from the Technical University of Chemnitz and has studied for a semester at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She now studies Media and Communication at the University of Applied Sciences of Mittweida. Alena speaks fluently German, English and Spanish and a little Russian, French, Czech and Italian.


Alexander Punter - Web Support

Alex joined VOICE in order to provide technical support and website maintenance. He is a British science graduate currently studying for a Chemistry doctorate in Marseille.
